Barton Hills Residence
Austin, Texas
A home within the trees, featuring views on three levels, fractured into distinct arms for socializing and privacy.
Heritage trees across the hillside inform the design and are celebrated from interior spaces. The lifted roof accentuates the great room, allowing natural light to fill the space, and a closer relationship with the tree canopies. An organic vertical brick pattern upon entry directs people to the great room. Once entering the great room, one is met with striking views of the rolling hills of Austin. Stepping onto the terrace, one can either descend to the pool deck or the back yard, or climb to a rooftop garden and spa with views of the Greenbelt.
The result is a dynamic home with a variety of spaces, appropriate for a family that wants to strengthen their relationship with the outdoors.
